At Croxteth Park Miniature Railway, we offer a unique experience for all ages. Our miniature trains provide a nostalgic and fun-filled adventure through the beautiful landscapes of Croxteth Hall and Country Park.
Welcome to Croxteth Park Miniature Railway
Experience the charm of a 7.25" gauge railway
Step aboard our miniature trains and enjoy a delightful ride through the picturesque grounds of Croxteth Hall and Country Park. Originally built in 1981 and operated until 2009. The Miniature Railway has now been fully restored to its original route throughout 2023 and 2024 and reopened on the 9th June 2024. Trains are pulled by one of our Petrol or Electric locomotives. Ocassionally we run a Steam locomative service for special events.
The Route.
Trains depart from Croxteth Halt and travel clockwise around the circuit past the Loco shed and through Crocodile Creek before climbing up the embankment to Fairy corner and then through the original railway tunnel. The train then passes through the Gnome garden and over our level crossing before returning to the station. The railway is themed with vintage railway signs that continue to be added each month. The station also houses as a small pocket money shop selling railway related items aswel as footballs and tennis rackets for plenty of fun on the park. We also have a small picnic area and new for Spring 2026 a drive your own tram.
Timetable.
Trains run every weekend from February to the end of October - 11:00am till 4:00pm plus Bank Holidays and everyday in the school holidays excluding Mondays. Two train operations are planned for every Sunday subject to volunteer availability.

Prices.
Ticket prices are £2.50 per person for a ride on the train.
Drive your own Tram is £1:00 per person per ride. (Coming Spring 2026)
